Åsmund Seip

Åsmund Seip is a Norwegian poet, spoken word artist and helpless optimist who, despite evidence that the world is going to sh*t, cannot stop loving it. Åsmund lives outside of Oslo with his life partner, two boys currently turning into young men and a dog — all four of them his greatest teachers on love and why it always matters.
In his poetry, his books and on stage, Åsmund is a teacher as much as a student of the vulnerable, a seeker of the grounds on which we can sit together and a lover of the fire, around which we can better remember what makes us human.
Through grief, trauma, anxiety and cold, long Nordic winters, Åsmund’s poetry is warm and hopeful, but less naively so, and more insistent on the wonder and beauty found in the cracks of our armour and our rationality.
